Heck of an ocean swell in the first one.

Been there, done that, but on a much less-lovely ship. Flat-ass calm, with a big, greasy swell running about 3 or 4 metres on a 100 to 150 metre period, not far from where you are, Rummie. If that won't make you seasick, nothing will.

Agree with that 100%.

Nice work, who's the artist?

At least 2 of them are by Geoff Hunt. The middle one depicts the 4 ships of Jack Aubrey.

Sophie, Surprise, Bellona, and the "horrible old Leopard"

^ I'm sorry, but I didn't jot down the artist name. Oops - I see that Arizona Bay knows them...

If you enlarge the pictures the artists names are in the bottom corner, but I can't read them. Perhaps somebody could blow it up even more.

She's in Baltimore Harbor as a Museum ship, still belongs to the Navy. Back in 2004 to celebrate her 150th yr., they towed her out of Baltimore, and down the bay to Annapolis for a week. 100 hours of volunteer work got you a ride. We spent most of that time tensioning and rattling down the main shrouds... that was a blast!

OH. Cool. I thought that you meant that you worked on the painting, and I was wondering if you were an art restoration specialist in your spare time...

I paint, but not that well :D

Here's one of mine, a painting based on a photo I like... not a full rigged ship, though.
