When is the last time the Chesapeake froze?

The late Seventies had some cold winters, pretty much everything froze.

Nice picture, Paul.

On the bright side, you don't drift much.

You just go with the flow...

That looks like a model.

Peace,
Robert

P.S. It would make a great model, eh? :)

Sorry.

Diorama? :d

Peace,
Robert

P.S. That picture wrecked me. I think I need to build a little boat, now, too.

No Rob, those fishing conditions were unfortunately very real this past winter. Heaviest se ice on the north and east coasts in years, mostly brought on by the rapid melting or the Greenland ice fields.

Oh, I dig.

I also realize how big those boats are, but don't they look like toys?

If that picture doesn't make a body realize how silly and tiny we are, and at the same time how magnificent and clever... well, I don't know.

It is a striking image.

Peace,
Robert

When is the last time the Chesapeake froze?

Ten or fifteen years ago the Potomac froze from Georgetown all the way into the bay.

I used to iceskate along the old canal at Georgetown. A lot of fun skating on a river or canal you can go on for miles, to places not accessible in the summer. I used to imagine what it might be like in Holland.
