Dad was just completing fighter training when Pearl Harbor happened. The Army accelerated check-out but Dad cooled his heels while the Army proceeded alphabetically. By that Christmas we were so short of pilots that Dad, still not checked out, was given a manual and a P-40 and told to defend San Fransisco if anyone showed up. So I can understand her point.

And her larger point is quite cogent as well. There comes a time to put country first, and set party aside. If we're not there now for Republicans, we're teetering on the brink. How many will stand up?
