Went to see him tonight. While I'm no musician, I sure can appreciate talent like his.

He's not as smooth as he once was, but his instrumentals still had me looking around for the other guitar player.

A few selections:

I heard him live at a small place and then at an after house party in the '70s, so this was before his tendonitis made him modify his style. Lightening fingers.

He's fantastic. We're seeing him end of September and really looking forward to it.
(September, for us, is pretty packed with music: we have David Grisman mid-month and Chris Hillman/Herb Pederson/John Jorgenson a little later, so seeing Leo will really finish it out nicely.)

Sounds like a great lineup!

We were 4th row. There were 4 seats in front of us marked as reserved - which the venue normally does not do. 10 min. before the show, in walked Mike Gordon (Phish) with his family. I guess Mike & Leo have done some shows together.

He closed the show with this:

I bought a copy of his "Ice Water" album on vinyl probably when it came out in 1976 and have a copy of "6 and 12 String Guitar" on CD. I've been a fan for a long time.

It's going to be a great month, marred only by the fact that we have to pass on Randy Newman due attending a wedding. Debby and I, along with our friend Paul, have a policy to see at least one live thing every calendar month. Been doing it for about 10 years now. This will be our third or fourth time seeing Leo - we're obviously not tired of him yet!

Re: Leo and Mike Gordon - I know they've done at least two albums together: "Clone" and "66 Steps". Good stuff.
