    pretty amazing story
dude was an avid photographer and took more photographs of the sr71 while it was still a secret program than any other photographer - to take one photograph required a request that went up the chain of command - he took 240 photographs in 6 years

Pop over to about 56 or so one the time line and you get to hear my all time favorite SR-71 story, the speed check.

            Heard that one before.
The one I like was a few of decades ago. A small single engine, a Commerical DC-9 and a C5 Galaxy Waiting for take off. Seems the Galaxy driver was giving the private pilot some grief. Asking him what the gross weight of a Cessna was, and then broadcasting that he grossed out at the better part of 800,000 pounds of so.
DC-9 driver fired back something along the lines of "big deal"
Galaxy guy smugly asks the weight of a fully loaded Dc-9. Captain responds "about $180,000 a year.

            Radio silence followed.

I got to see one arrive and depart from Adak International Airport in 1968.It was quite a show.

Okay, first you have to crash a fighter plane into a hostile war zone. Then let it burst into flame.
