Bart const pics update

I haven't posted in awhile and now that the weather is cooler it's time to get back to work on Bart. Bart is a 15' day sailor designed by Al Mason in 1960 for his Daughter Anita and never built.
I've been busy doing other things and now the boat is asking me to show it some love. I will have it in the water the spring of 2005. Just waiting for some funds for the mast and the sails. Maybe Todd would like a go at the sails? smile.gif

Did you buy the plans from Anita? Was there a story as to why it was not built?

Yes I bought the plans from Anita she is a very nice person and a pleasure to deal with. The plans were very detailed as I understand all of Mr. Mason's plans are. Anita told me that the boat was designed for her as a birthday present when she was a teenager. She opted for a horse instead,seems that Al would give her things that he needed to test out so she rarely got a chance to use some things herself. Al was afraid of horse's so she figured the horse was a safe bet. Smart gal this Anita!!
