    British internet courtesy

American websites just throw out cookies hitjer and thither.
Whenever I visit a British website, I get a popup informing me that they use cookies and am I willing to accept them.
I just followed a link to the Booker prize. The popup appeared, and I accepted. This was followed by a second popup which thanked me for accepting.
    Now, that's good manners.

It was a European law thing. Some people do not want to accept cookies and wish to know what sites wish to use them, they do , after all, track your web use for targeted advertising, at the very least.

It's jolly nice of the Poms to call them cookies for you as well. They really should be called biscuits you know JayInOz

Can't I have a setting that lets them know that since I'm diabetic, I really can't have cookies?

We have a diabetic relative, so we can send you some biscuit recipes if you can bake for your self.

My bank uses cookies and I delete all cookies when I close my browser.

              I am also changing banks.
