It would be good high carbon steel too, good material for wear resistance.

What on earth would I do with a round nosed shovel?

          Peace,
Robert (we're all square nosed shovel folk, see?)

Oh, no. Round points are for amateurs.

A big, wide square point, well sharpened, will cut through this alluvial hardpan like nobody.

Plus, they scoop well, for, erm, leavings of animals.

They trench better, cut holes, chop roots, and square edges better.

A good sqaure nose shovel holds more, too.

              Peace,
              Robert

One little garden spade and one trowel are round nosed. All else is flat and SHARP!

Do you secretly design Lake Freighters?

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

I like it, but I would rather see the old rail lines preserved for the people who ride the rails by peddle power and small engines. Even in an urban setting, that can be enjoyable.

Better still, some commercial light rail would benefit us all.

I should. I am confident I have moved a Lake Freighter's worth of horse and cow leavings in my life time.

Cool video. The lack of hearing and eye protection makes me cringe.

Very interesting. ..... I am surprised that they are using what I suspect is pretty high quality steel for mear shovels. I too am surprised by the lack of safety precautions, ..... thinking it must be "Eastern Europe".

They had safety precautions, the guy putting on labels was wearing gloves

Shovels need good steel, do some work sometime with a cheap shovel and note the difference!

Railroad steel is indeed good steel, look like outstanding shovels, how much $$ each?
