Decided against trading for the Sunbeam Alpine...--

Too much rust to deal with, and I just don't think it would make me happy. So for now I'm still a Corvair owner.

And it didn't help that my neighbor gave me a ride n his Model T last weekend. I'm hooked! He drove me all over his property--over terrain I could t believe a car could handle.

I had not seen that before...Wow!

Lots of fun if you don't mind an an occasional rollover and of course, the odd cracked spine every now and again.

Modified for high water during the 1927 flood in Mississippi.

Most weren't modified. The caption on this photo says Main Street, but I'm sure this was on Washington Avenue. My grandfather stayed in town during the flood. My grandmother took my mother and uncle and went to Clarksdale.

Model T's are very reasonably priced these days...

Keep looking and one will fall in your lap for a song, really. The speedsters are pretty fun.
(my neighbor just picked up an older restoration roadster, a '25 I think)

How many 'modern' cars could do what that/those cars did in that video?

I think a Model T would be more fun than a Sunbeam Alpine.

A wooden boat and sailing friend was also a vintage car person and rebuilt a 1929 Riley 9. It was huge fun - whilst in very truth I doubt we ever got above 40 mph, the speed seemed terrific, the noisy exhaust contributing, of course, and yes that car had some interesting cross country abilities

The Golden T, built by George and Jobling in Great Britain. 1920?

This is a T speedster...aftermarket conversion circa 1912. (By the way, the car in the video was not a T truck. Maybe a Dodge sedan.)

My first car was a '67 Sunbeam Minx. I have always wanted the Alpine.

My mom drove an Alpine for years. At about 10 or 11 I was "lucky" enough to ride 11 hours from CT to OH in the back of it.

In college, I got a call from a student who had her boyfriend's Tiger for a few weeks & it'd died. She was freaked that he was going to go ballistic & called me in a panic. Replaced the coil, adjusted the points & timing & drank at the Tin & Lint for several weeks for free. Turned out he was a little suspicious because it was running better than when she'd borrowed it.
