Good to have you back buddy.

Tom Montgomery

Thank you, John.

I was rude toward another Forumite. No question. I was also honest.

Shaming the shameless risks, admittedly, rudeness.

Thank you, isla.

I have been here since 1997. I hope to stay a bit longer. ;)

Yeah, you've been around here as long as I have. It wasn't the same without you; very glad you're back You know, there are ways of telling someone all the uncomplimentary things you're thinking about them without attracting the Wrath Of Scott. Big words help. :d

Tom Montgomery
03-23-2017, 06:13 PM
Thank you, Keith.

The irony is that the post that got me banned is still viewable. The thread was not mine and was never Scotted. My post was quoted in that thread. Anyone can still read it.

Crazy, eh?

Direct and honest is not what flies around here, 'tis true. Took me a while to figure that out. I'm doing better... haven't been banned in WEEKS!!!

Welcome Back!

I try, but despite my best efforts I may never figure it out.

Scot sez we should all recognize what is "rude."

Yet a lot is posted in the Bilge that I consider to be rude. And passes unpunished. You figure it out. After 20 years I cannot.

Phillip Allen's "Town Hall" thread.

Scott was cleaning house. Rudeness was getting out of hand. We all need to heed the strictest of guidelines of civility, avoid those who seek to encourage outrage and work to kindly police each other with reminders. Welcome back!

Welcome back, Tom.

I'm curious... The local sports talk radio station has a segment every Friday morning called the "Emergency Brake of the Week" to vote on which host is most responsible for a moment that brings a segment to a screeching halt with some off the wall comment or action.

Anybody keep track of number of bannings for members here? I'm at one and holding. Still don't understand why it was for an entire 3 months with no warning for a first offense... :p

I wouldn't know, I have never crossed that line.......

Had a few shots across the bow though......

I agree....... I have even posted a thing or two that even I believe should have got
me a time out, but noooooooo, I lose posts over a whiner mashing the button on
I 9 month old post!

If you're happy, so am I.

It is possible to plant barbs in the arses of your adversaries without straying into rudeness.

Rely on your wit and intelligence, amigo.

This is a first for me. I have never been involved, real-time, in a banning infraction, so I have never gotten to read an actual post that got someone banned. Until now.

Welcome back Tom.

A clear apology to PA should have been in order rather then whining about being banned ..

Course. I whined about being banned, however you should be a bigger man then me!

John of Phoenix

Look who's telling someone to apologize.

:D LMAO :D

Tom Montgomery

Oh... I was not whining about my banishment, bobbys. I have acknowledged that I was rude. I was merely wondering aloud how you and others manage to successfully skirt the edge time and again.

.

Skirt the edge?.

I have been banned 3 times I think.

one was just repeating what someone wrote, if one read it out of context it looked like I was saying it.

One was joking with a forum member who knew I was joking but made a federal case out of it, no worries I said I was sorry anyways here and by pM.

The other time I was prolly a jerk...

All the times I was banned a forum member had gloating threads about it.

most libs joined in.

I'll never figure it out. One former member who disagreed with my position kept replying to me with a clown picture. I responded with a broken record picture. I got a warning and lost 50 posts.

:dLMAO:d.

Yet that's in the rules I guess..

maybe be that's all he is capable with though..

It's a form of harassment and its petty.

thats " skirting" the rules.

John of Phoenix

Ridiculing ridiculous posts is "skirting the rules"?

BTW, you're whining again.

:D LMAO :D
