View Full Version : Obama spied on Trump via microwave oven!

It's all becoming clear to me now.

WASHINGTON -- Senior White House adviser Kellyanne Conway says she doesn't have any evidence to support U.S. President Donald Trump's claim that Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower phone lines during the election.
Instead, Conway is pointing to recent revelations about other government surveillance to suggest it was possible Obama used a different technique.

"What I can say is there are many ways to surveil each other now, unfortunately," including "microwaves that turn into cameras, et cetera," Conway told New Jersey's The Record newspaper in an interview Sunday. "So we know that that is just a fact of modern life."

Can this get any weirder? Seriously?

Remember the Roseanne TV show? She threatened embarrassing her daughter by taking her to the mall and then dancing to the Musak in front of her schoolmates.
Kellyanne is "dancing to the Musak" every time she goes on television.

If your smart microwave is on your home network, it might be easier to attack the microwave and use it to turn on a camera that your laptop has and send the signal out. In a sense she is not too far wrong.

I believe your smart light switches could also do that.

Iirc, the cia did listen in on the Soviets at one point by giving them a statue with the peculiar shaped void in the middle. The void wasn't so much a bug, as a reflector; the cia could listen in by training their device to pick up the sound reflected out. Mighta use microwaves somehow in that process, if memory serves.

Maybe there is more to that statue that's been returned to the Oval Office than folks might think.

I'm confused as to what a "liberal media outlet" is?

This story right now on CNN is the number one story, followed by two and three which also relate to Trumps wire tap claims...

Don't be daft Norman. The 'word' is the same as when Trump says “You know, a lot of people are saying that, and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there,” Trump responded. “We’re going to look at that and plenty of other things.”

There is an easy way to guard against this. Make sure you never cook for yourself. I bet you Trump can't cook, has never cooked a meal for himself, any of his wives and kids, and that the only thing his home computer has is a Twitter feed. And that his chef does not require or use a connected microwave.

Technology is complex, but not that complex.

Ah, the Justice Department has granted more time for the seekers to come up with evidence. It was (if I recall) due today, but they have yet to reveal it. It's getting close to time for the fat ladies to sing. Will they?

Meanwhile, Spicer and his colleagues do an excellent polka, don't you think? But they could use some help and more time smoothing their spins as the dance partners are getting dizzy.

Vince: they're gone or mute. Either they believe we are hopeless or they have retreated to their Fortresses of Solitude to gird their loins. They have plenty of other places they can go where they get more agreement to support their fantasies. Maybe that's where they are. It strains credulity to believe a light bulb has gone off. There's not much illumination in their world and they like it that way.

About that evidence and "what people say." There's but one remaining who is posting on this thread. He claims to have evidence based on what people are saying. Let him show us the deed to the property. Dimbart, that middle of the road vehicle, will likely be his prime source.

On the contrary. She is very smart and clever - well at least smart. But her job is to defend the Administration. She can't throw her hands up in the air and say "No, that is indefensible". Instead she keeps a straight face and educates us as to the concept of alternative facts. (I would hate to play poker with her). I think she would have greater credibility if she faked a seizure or a heart attack every time she is put in the spotlight. After all, there would always be at least a slim chance that she was not lying.

We have often had poor to mediocre presidents, but they have always surrounded themselves with the best and the brightest (subject to their political beliefs). Trump has found the worst and most stupid. The question of why this country elected Trump is only reinforced by his choice in associates.

...Trump has found the worst and most stupid. The question of why this country elected Trump is only reinforced by his choice in associates. Not quite, CW. Carson has selective competence - if only he'd stuck to brain surgery, eh? Both Bannon and Conway are very bright indeed, and Sessions is clearly a crafty and practiced infighter; they just devote their marked talents to evil causes. (I use that word quite deliberately.)

I suspect that any of the CEOs on his Cabinet are very adept in their fields - Tillerson, for instance, didn't spend a long time atop Exxon by being or suffering idiots. Frankly I'm surprised as hell that they signed on to work with a person they'd never have promoted into the upper (or even middle) management ranks during their own time at the top. One can only suspect that they thought they could control or use him; I'd anticipate more actual patriotism among such members of his team, and wouldn't be surprised if they'd serve well under a positive leader.

Pence is someone with whom I disagree on pretty much every major topic, but at this point at least he projects a kind of honesty in his (wrong) belief system. I'd trust him not to thrash America's institutions beyond recognition the way that Bannon/Trump are planning, and to radically scale back the level of sheer dishonesty and anarchic and systemic disruption which Bannon/Trump are using as their signature. I also suspect that he'd fire Bannon and Conway in a heartbeat, replacing them with more conventionally Republican advisors.

If the impeachment or resignation occurs, I think that Pence could be an adequate if relatively extreme Pres - certainly more adequate than most of those who showed up in the Primaries. Either way, the ACA repeal/replace is horrifying, and will be the albatross around all elected GOP necks once people start suffering at a good clip. But Pence would perhaps be ordinarily destructive (not a full-on Ted Cruz order of destructive either), rather than the catalysts for chaos who guide the ship now.

Not quite, CW. Carson has selective competence - if only he'd stuck to brain surgery, eh?

Carson actually operated on my cousin's daughter. As a surgeon, I respect him. On the other hand, he did not take insurance and insisted on cash. Something about that points to a personal value that bothers me.

As for the rest, Conway makes comments that are an embarrassment to any thinking person. Whatever her strengths, it's not representing the administration in a thoughtful and defensible way. Half of Trump's appointments seem to be selected to dismantle their departments. I am hoping they are not effective.

I don't think there is anything about Trump's appointees that is not very deliberate. With the possible exception of Pence, they are his, not the GOP's, and are there to do his bidding. Some are there to deconstruct their agencies, some to turn their purpose or neuter them. The failure, so far, to appoint to positions down the tree may be another method of controll by inaction, and the 'reorganisation' of the way the White House works a threat to how governance works. Centralisation of power is what that is about.
I doubt congress will do much at all but do as they are told.
