You know when you weed through all the repetitive BS, there really are some incredibly interesting people that participate in the Bilge. Most of you I think I would really enjoy meeting in person.

I agree... and while I'm not the most 'social' of people, generally, I have met a number of terrific people who are active here in the bilge, and they ARE extremely interesting.

However, unlike some, I DO have a social fault: there are some people here in the bilge that I definitely do NOT care to meet. I am impressed by the ability of some to get along with absolutely ANYONE.... but I'm just not that kind of person. Furthermore, I have met at least two bilgerats in person who actually offended me.

I never met the grammar nazi in person. I did, however, meet a long time bilgerat (now gone) many years back, who was remarkably obnoxious when greeting me... and it was a person widely admired by many. The dead shall remain un-named.

I don't trust that Keith Wilson fella. He's trying to be reasonable, but I'm not sure he's really putting his heart and soul into it...

I've met Keith in person... he's a fine fellow, 'well met'.... and is especially adept at crashing through porch steps :)

My wife and I met Paul Pless at a Thai restaurant in Savannah a few years ago. Nice guy. I am sorry he moved further away.

As an aside, you must watch "Genius," on Netflix. Never before had I understood how crucial an editor was, back when editors in publishing houses were editors. Max Perkins was a midwife, without whom we'd not have a whole lot of Tom Wolfe, Fitzgerald or Hemmingway.

Wheat germ and flax seed meal in my oatmeal.

That, and the Phillips screwdriver... Which they sort of downgraded, it used to have a slot that would open sardine cans (and sealed welding rod containers)

I'd love to meet a whole bunch of you, but am I coming to the US soon?
I had plans and the cash, but recent events have made me think again. I do not fancy coming in through your airports for a starter.

Seriously, a white dude from Australia that speaks the queen's English will have no worries at any of our international airports.

I've met a bunch of folks that hang out here. Great bunch of people! Well, there is that Pless character... :p

Our airports aren't unsafe - just a PITA. Better come before Trump enacts state border checks for ID cards though.

Personally I do not want any wheat or chaff in my bilge. Plugs the darn pump. Would not mind meeting a batch of the folks represented her though.
