View Full Version : Sessions-Manchin Confluence of Interest

Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia was the only Democrat to vote to confirm Jeff Sessions as U.S. attorney general.* Naturally, there has been some serious screaming from liberals and anti-racists.

Sen. Manchin is very conservative and might very well have voted for Sessions even if he had no personal stake. But his daughter Heather Bresch was the chief executive at Mylan who so egregiously boosted the cost of Epi-Pens and is now under DoJ investigation.

Not only is Manchin conservative enough that he might well have voted for Sessions even without his daughter’s current DoJ problems, but Sessions’ record shows that he may very well ratchet down to zero the investigation of Bresch and her business despite any personal favors.

So, maybe there’s nothing wrong here.

Manchin is no doubt aware of this...
