Of Canadians still head south for the winter?

I hope the ones with a conscience will refrain from bringing money into the US where 16 cents on every dollar collected
goes towards bullying the third world.

Sure, some of us will come to Florida (I thought that should be clarified).
But we probably won't stay as long and won't spend as much money.
We will see this year what Emperor has in mind (assuming he actually has one).

I'm en route right now.

Boca Raton, if anyone needs a boat painted. But I'm attending my MIL's 90th birthday.

And I bet I'll watch my wife spend plenty.

The more who come south the more of us 'muricans will fit in Canada.

The Canadian snowbirds I know have their winter condos in gated communities largely populated by likeminded Canadian snowbirds.
Unless the support staff get deported, the Canadians will be unfazed.

I remember in 2003 (when Canada had the good sense to decline dubya's invitation into Iraq) there were a number of hate incidents against Canadians in FL - slashed tires, spray painted cars, smashed windshields - anything identifiable as Canadian was susceptible. I can't imagine why they'd be attacked this time but things are strange these days.

My sister has a condo in Naples FL and we usually come down for a week in Feb. I considered cancelling but have decided to go at least this year. I do know several people who have changed their plans and won't be heading to Florida this year.

I imagine the weakness of the Canadian dollar plays a bigger role than Trump

I'm still seeing empty camp sites all over....
Definitely not normal this time of year.

I just left Fla a couple of days ago & a used car salesman I talked to (I bought a car while down there) said he was stocking up for the first week in January - as that's when he sees most snowbirds arrive. This was in the Vero - Ft. Pierce area - others may differ.

Wish I would have known that, I'm not far from there.

Damn! Next time I head down (kids & grandkids are in Vero - having just moved over from Ft. Meyers) I'll PM you. How far?

A friend of mine and his wife were on a cruise last fall where he was one of the invited speakers.

He said it was full of Canadians, Europeans, and Asians, but very, very few Americans.

I don't think Americans have the money they used to have. The Canadians are doing better.
