It's gonna be a crazy political week. To keep the pr0n/rubbish level to a respectable ratio please help me by posting up some boat pr0n threads down here. Thanks.

The fastest 505's are now built from pre-preg, vacuum bagged, sandwiched carbon and glass?

However, for about 2 decades the fastest boats had molded wooden decks, tanks and centerboard wells.

A wooden hull was rare:

Not necessarily wood, but some nice boats here http://www.steamboatassociation.org.uk/
You could be distracted from politics for quite a while.

Almost - I'd want a 3.5 horse and build in the cooler. It should be car-top-able. a small trailer would make this thing even cooler! i admit that i am a serious lurker when skiffs are spoken. I do dream about working shorelines and beaches all over the states.

I have came across interesting Kahala skiff design which might be ineteresting. More on designer's webite: http://cernyyachtdesign.com/power/swift-skiff-series/kahala-skiff/

The construction utilizes a BVDY beveled strip planking method covered in lightweight fiberglass cloth that saves countless hours over traditional strip planking while still creating a lightweight and easily maintained hull.

Just finished her two weeks ago and broke the mast yesterday, so we're off to an auspicious beginning...
