Is there any indignity suffered by Winston Smith in 1984 which has not been visited on the citizens of the USA (or Britain) since 9-11?

I am not sure that we are at the rat cage over the head stage yet. Let's see what President Drumpf decrees, though.

Oh, don't be silly. We have plenty of problems, but not like that. Catastrophizing is easy, but useless.

We have Room 101 - and it's on the TV as mass entertainment.

My office at the college happened to be Room 101, but I wasn't the worst thing in the world.

We have Room 101 - and it's on the TV as mass entertainment.Yeah, but it's fictional. Mass entertainment also has excessively-muscled flying guys with capes, invasions of giant spiders, beautiful animated young women who can turn things to ice by waving at them, zombies out the yinyang, astronauts on Mars, nasty supernatural creatures of diverse kinds, and all sorts of other things that don't exist in the real world.

I see the revision of History all the time, just like Winston Smith's department has expanded and is going full steam...

Sorry, guys, this is just dumb. Again, we have plenty of problems, but anybody who imagines we have anything like the world of 1984 probably hasn't read the book since high school and has forgotten most of it.

A Hillary supporter already making excuses for her pending further nullification of the Bill of Rights.

Deplorable.
