One of Uncle Rupie's pet monsters has been getting way out of line.

Gretchen Carlson, the longtime Fox anchor, filed a lawsuit on Wednesday saying that Roger Ailes (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/a/roger_e_ailes/index.html?inline=nyt-per), the powerful chairman of Fox News, fired her from the network last month after she refused his sexual advances and complained to him about discriminatory treatment in the newsroom.

The startling accusations immediately transfixed the world of television news, where Mr. Ailes is a hugely influential figure known for demanding absolute loyalty from his employees.

The lawsuit (https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/2941030-Carlson-Complaint-Filed.html) — filed in Superior Court in New Jersey, where Mr. Ailes maintains a residence — portrays the Fox chairman as a loutish and serial sexual harasser, accusing him of ogling Ms. Carlson in his office, calling her “sexy” and making sexually charged comments about her physical appearance.

Pull up a chair, this is gonna be good!

I'm reminded of one of my Moms favorite old sayings -- "time wounds all heels"

He made a pass at the wrong lady. He should have attended to Mrs. Murdoch. She's better looking.

its hard to believe he actually said their relationship would be simplified by them having sex

It sounds like Ailes is ailing....

Nothing bad that comes out of the Murdoch empire surprises me.

21st Century Fox, issued a measured statement, saying it had “full confidence’’ in Mr. Ailes, but had initiated an internal review of Ms. Carlson’s charges. “We take these matters seriously,” the company said.

Yeah. Right.

They took over the little Cold Spring paper. It was a charming non political local paper. They turned it into the NY POST / Right Wing Fascist Rag. In the meantime they hired a gung ho young editor. Rumors started spreading that the editor and Ms Murdoch we ummmmm spending a little too much time running the paper together.

They bulldozed a charming little home to scar the mountainside with a 20,000 sqr ft compound, compete with high end security details and CC cameras all over the place, dogs and big fences.

They are horrible divisive, entitled neighbors.

Apparently 10 or so other women have contacted Ms.Carlson's lawyers with details of them being harassed also, per CNN.

Yeah, that one caught me by surprise too...

Simpler for him. He's too fat and ugly to pick up someone in a bar, unless he threw a $1000 bill on the table.

Here's a story from that left-wing rag, People Magazine—

After former Fox host Gretchen Carlson (http://www.people.com/article/gretchen-carlson-supercut-fox-friends-male-co-hosts) sued Fox News CEO and Chairman Roger Ailes for sexual harassment and retaliation (http://www.people.com/article/gretchen-carlson-sues-fox-news-roger-ailes-sexual-harassment) on Wednesday, six more women have come forward claiming that they had similar experiences with Ailes over multiple decades.

In an interview with New York Magazine (http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/07/six-more-women-allege-ailes-sexual-harassment.html), these six women – two whom have chosen to use their names and four whom have remained anonymous – individually describe their encounters with Ailes, all claiming that he made sexual advances towards them. According to New York, the women came forward through Carlson's attorney.

The women – who include a former Republican National Committee field adviser, three former models, a media consultant and a former TV producer – all claim that Ailes sexually harassed (http://www.ew.com/article/2016/07/10/roger-ailes-gretchen-carlson-new-allegations?xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_facebook) them in instances ranging from the late '60s to 1989. Kellie Boyle, the former RNC field adviser, alleged that during a 1989 interview for a job, Ailes refused to hire her after she said she wouldn't perform sexual favors for him. Marsha Callahan, a former model, claimed that during an audition for The Mike Douglas Show in the late '60s, then-producer Ailes made her lift up her skirt in front of him to show off her legs and told her he would give her a part on the show if she slept with him and his "select friends." Callahan declined but still got a part on the show.

Your title has it wrong. The head of Fox is not being sued. That would fall under the arbitration clause in her contract. But Mr. Ailes is being sued for his personal behavior.

That's silly.

Is Ailes not the Chairman and CEO of Fox News and the Fox Television Stations Group?

Is there such a thing as impersonal behavior?

Fox is arguing that she is suing him as part of a workplace dispute making it, according to her contract, an arbitration case. She, in her lawsuit, is contending its a personal behaviour issue and thus is not eligible for arbitration.

She's specifically worded her suit so as to avoid arbitration, which would be behind closed doors with all evidence hidden. She wants maximum exposure of Ailes' conduct and so is leaving the 'workplace' part out of it.

I read that and understood it. Can't see how that should alter the title.

Because the head of Fox News is not being sued. Mr. Ailes is being sued. There is a legal difference.

This has come up before. Hulk Hogan. Donald Trump.

Trump as the owner of Trump University is not liable for damages. Trump as a decision maker at Trump University is liable for damages (if there are any).

I'll repeat: Is Ailes not the Chairman and CEO of Fox News and the Fox Television Stations Group?

This is a Forum post, not a legal filing.

I believe the issue you brought up is a legal issue. And you misstated the issue. The Fox News head is not being sued for sex harrassment. The fellow being sued just happens to be the Fox News head.

What a silly distinction without a difference in real life. The man being sued is the Fox News head, but he is being sued in an individual capacity.
