I don't think anyone out my way has forgotten. The boats and campers are all loaded and the stores are all sold out of beer, charcoal and ice.:( Oh and all the camp grounds are full.

Starting the weekend by feeding the down-and-out at my church's soup kitchen. To be followed, if not too hot, by fishing, boating and relaxing close to home. But, foremost in my mind will be those who gave it all for our freedom.

Kicked off the weekend with the Seatbelts last night in Ann Arbor opening a show for a film documentary on Punk. Our band was followed by two transvestite bands. It was interesting.
taking the Mustang out of storage today and go cruising with the wife. It's absolutely beautiful in Stockbridge right now.
My dad welded the aluminum on B17s. My mom tested for leaks in swamp buggies.
hope to see some fighters fly over enroute to their parade destinations(usually do).
I will return to the water Tuesday morning. Hope not to see too much jetsam flotsam.

When I think of this day I think of my dad telling me how he took a bulldozer on Saipan and made a mass grave and pushed the bodies in..

No time to have a real burial as combat was going on, even then snipers were hitting the dozer..

Sad, Dieing on a beach being buried and forgotten and now it's a resort..

Dying on a beach is sometimes not as hard as living over it.
