Haverhill shootings, 16 yr old suspect in custody- Drug Dealer

GREAT, got to love the direction America is headed...

    Drug dealer too!

    From the Tribune.

HAVERHILL — Police said they have arrested a 16-year-old Haverhill boy and charged him with shooting two people at Swasey Field on Saturday.
The arrest happened Monday at 8 p.m. at Temple and Reed streets in the Mount Washington area where the field is also located, police said. The boy was arrested by Haverhill police and members of the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section.
The boy was charged with two counts of assault to murder while armed, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, one count of carrying a firearm without an FID card, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling. He was also arrested on a default warrant out of Essex Juvenile Court for possession of Class D drug with intent to distribute.
Police said the shooting stemmed from a fight between two groups. Police Captain Pistone said the boy is known to Haverhill police for being involved in gang activity and has a gang tattoo.
The shooting halted a youth baseball game at the field, which received $2 million of improvements in the last three years. Officials of local youth baseball leagues have said they will play no more games at Swasey this season because of the shooting

Well, when the NRA and the gannets want people to have guns, what do you expect?

there have been guns around Essex County for 400 years, and base ball for 200, why are we just getting people shot on base ball fields now

A practical SCIENTIFIC type mind has got to look for something else, another variable that has changed.

Yup, there have been, muskets etc. in the 18th century. Guns were for the procurement of food, deer, rabbits etc. They no longer have a need to have one unless they are in the military but, the right says it's a right!

This isn't about gun laws or the NRA. This is about the failure of a culture and a community to elevate itself and its people to decency. It's about drugs and the gang culture. It's about real family values and the values those families bring to the community and their homes.

For other reasons, I was looking at the small town of Pittsburg, NH way up in the northernmost part of the state. The average family income is under $50k, so lower than the average in this state. The violent crime rate is zero. Average high school enrollment is 43 people with a 100% graduation rate.

How come Haverhill has so many more advantages and so many more problems?

            Well, it ain't rocket science.

We make drugs illegal? The price goes up.

We make drugs illegal? The use goes up, too.

You go to the ghetto and there are not many paths out of there.

You think all those kids are gonna make the NBA?

Drug dealing can be VERY lucrative. Working at the car wash?

            Not so much.

There have been drugs for 400 years also. Baseball for 200 years seems like a stretch.
Maybe the police force is what we should be looking at.

              Massachusetts

              Arrested on a warrant for
              Class D Substance

This class includes marijuana, possession of which is not a crime in most cases. Other class D substances are hashish, and other substances with THC and marijuana derivatives or concentrates

Having more than one doobie in Massachusetts might make an attempt to distribute charge.
I'm not sure this charge makes him a "drug dealer", likely it is an another attempt to alter public opinion.

Remember fellas, the guy who started this thread thinks Singapore has solved its drug problem with the death penalty for dealers and that everyone else should follow suit.

"WAR on Whatever"? So you are not against perpetrators of violent gun crimes and drug dealing?

Notice a double standard? someone who owns guns legally is a danger and menace to society... a DRUG DEALER who shoots 2 at a base ball field is "WHATEVER"
