Is Bernie 'giving away free stuff'?

Or is that just another bit of cowflop meant to mislead the electorate, and parroted by the usual gullible ignoramii?

Unfortunately, Bernie's proposals are just as prone to optimistic thinking and presumed economic factors, as the Republican ones. It makes the presumptions that the revenues needed to accomplish all the goals will NOT be subject to opposition that must inevitably result in a compromise, with some of the revenue projections impossible to achieve.

I love (almost) all the ideas... but only the naive would expect that they could all be accomplished. This is my biggest criticism of Sanders, and the reason why I'd philosophically be more inclined to want to see Hillary in the White House: she would endorse lots of good ideas, but not over-promise.

However, my intention to vote is the same: whichever one stands the best chance of defeating a Republican candidate, will get my vote. The match-up polls, just before the primary, will be the most significant indicator.

Too many now subject events to a prefabricated set of interpretations, usually provided by a biased media source. The myth is more comfortable than the often difficult search for truth."

None of this stuff is free. It's a question of how it's paid for.

Bernie wants to go immediately to single payer. Much as I support having single payer, I know damned well it won't happen in one swell swoop.

Hillary wants to build on the ACA. Not sure that will be possible either, but its odds are better.

I don't know what she and the Dems will suggest, but what I do know is Obama couldn't get enough Democrats to vote for the ACA if it included a public option. Maybe, just maybe, Hillary would be able to add a public option to the ACA during her time as president.

That would be a modest step. Assuming the people like it if it becomes a reality, it could grow into single payer.

He wants to pay for college. She wants to lower the cost. Again, I'm not sure what her proposals are (probably on her website) but I can imagine it might be possible to low interest rates on student loans; maybe connected to GPA.

I have no doubt, in the general election, that he'll spend a great deal of time defining 'socialist" and he'll find himself having that debate with Ronald Reagan. I also expect he have a problem explaining to many why they should pay for someone else to go to college; not like k-12 which is kind of required for kids to go through. I'd be surprised if the GOP doesn't question one who applied for conscientious objector status being Commander in Chief.

The more I listen to Bernie, the more I hear McGovern. I see no reason why Sanders fares better in the general election than McGovern did. If he does manage to get the nomination and, to my surprise wins the election, he will not be able to deliver on any of his promises, and all those who are supporting him now will be disappointed in him, as he is in Obama.

So if it comes down to Sanders v. Trump who gets your vote?

Still vote Dem. If he can't get his stuff through and I expect he won't I'd still vote for him. There maybe a chance that Trump's ideas will get through a republican majority in the Senate or by the representatives and I can't count on dems taking one or both branches in Nov..

Not a nice way to talk about your fellow Democrats, as that's who he is campaigning towards now.

We have a tendency to compare and contrast our candidates. The republicans don't appear to do that. Just go with the screams the chants and the ballons to pick their candidates. They don't really care what they say or promise!
