If your bringing it up by truck, then you'll need to go to the border crossing when the truck comes through. You'll have to provide proof of the boats worth, like a purchase receipt, and then you'll need to pay the GST and whatever provincal tax on the declared value of the boat. You'll also need your ID.

When I had Etain sent up, they didn't even inspect her, but that was before good old Sept. 11. They will prolly want to take a good look inside her as she sits on the truck. I actually forgot my purchase agreement at home, but they allowed me to have the broker in Florida fax a copy to their office. Then I paid the GST and PST and away we went.

Hey Bob, did you declare the load of marshmallows in the boat or did they think it was flotation?

great way to smuggle marshmallows across the border! hehehehehehehehe! the only problem is that canadian marshmallows are metric so you can only use them in hot chocolate. it's like the gas measure approx. 3.6 canadian marshmallows=1 u.s. and they only taste good with molson so i hear!

Uh-oh. I can see that this will become, in future years, the famous "marshmallow thread."
