Local craigslist has a Makita 12 inch thickness planer, model 2012. I had been holding out for a Delta 22-560, 565, or 580, but this one has a nice price. Any opinions on Makita thickness planers.

Primarily preping thin stock for laminates.

Makita tools are some of the best, longest lasting out there. . .The only disadvantage to this planer is the table moves up and down, rather than the power head. That makes it difficult to make an infeed/outfeed table for it. The new Makita planer now moves the power head up and down.
