Anyone have a clue where I might obtain a side cover gasket and a few similar parts for my Mercedes 636 diesel?

I tried that{car dealer}. They just scratch their heads and shrug. The 636 is basically a refridgeration diesel, like Perkins. I have a 63 MBZ and the 636 bears no resemblance

Try a refer truck/trailer shop. Thermo King is probably the biggest and in most larger cities. They will be under Thermo King in the yellow pages. They use Kubota now--a really fine rig.
