I told my wife this story, she was upset, I never thought much about it but it's true.

Last week a guy pulled up in front of my house in a truck.

I walked over and said hello.

He asked if I knew the old renter, I said yes.

After awhile he said..

Do you know what I have under my seat?.

Me... I dunno.

Him. I have a gun.

Me .. That's nice.

Him.. Do you know I could blow Yer flocking head off?.

Me... HHHMMMM.. I guess so.
.
Him.... I have done it before.

Me... That's nice.

Him what fo you think of that?.

Me... I guess I should be nice.

Him... I was a VN vet and Im on disability.

Me.... OK.

Him.. I have PTSD .

Me ... OK I hope you feel better..

Him.. I will be back...

Me... Have a nice day..

Rather strange, do you think he was having a bad day?. I'm pretty glad I was not the jersey wise guy I can be.

Who sez this stuff to strangers?

Should have notified the police. I suspect you have guns for personal protection, but having the police know about this would be prudent.

I do not think that a gun threat, any life-ending threat, should be taken
casually.
I would talk to the PD

I have to agree that you should talk to the local police and give them as much description as you can.

Actually, be thankful you didn't have a gun. This incident could have been worse.

.

I never even thought of calling the police, No I had no gun.

Had a 20oz long handled rocket hammer though.

I was shocked more then anything trying to figure out what this guy was up to..

He looked kinda crippled

No one here seems to mind a guy having a gun who freely admits he suffering from PTSD. Now that's weird and kinda frightening.

I recommend that you report it to the Police.

Stay safe, bobbys. The crazy people aren't just on the internet.

I'd have reported him at my first opportunity. Then I would be always on the lookout for that truck.
You don't have or want a gun? Learn how to throw an ax.

An axe? Are you mad!?

A hammer has better accuracy and greater range.

Hey, this is a chance for you to be the prototypical NRA good guy. Defend yourself! You know the cops can't be trusted.

Humans tend to shirk at the sight of a naked blade even more than a firearm, which is why I carry an 8" fileting knife in my car.

Should have asked him in for a shot and a beer.

Why does the heading 'That was weird' always compel me to read?

You should have gotten his plate number and contacted the police. The guy may be known to the police for similar incidents and if so his possession of a gun should be looked into. If he goes around threatening people randomly he may at some point decide to do the deed.

Yup. He may be BSing about having a gun, but if he isn't, he shouldn't have one.
