It does look cool. However, open the hood and you will find technology far more primitive than you can find today. The real cool factor is not something you can see, but it's something you can experience.

I bet the primitive tech will last longer though. Durability was important then.

More likely, simple is easier to maintain and repair. Dedication to something that grabs us is the real secret to longevity. Not many modern cars grab us that way.

Durability was important then.compared to today with regards to durability: tires sucked, batteries sucked, belts and hoses sucked, coils sucked, brakes sucked - no seatbelts, no air bags, no safety glass, no abs, no padded dash, no collapsible steering column. . .
