1950's Gray Marine with the fresh water pump uppermost. The pump is dripping a steady stream of salt water. What's the problem and how do I fix it?
Also, for the first time in my recent ownership I saw some antifreeze in the pan. This was after banging around to loosen the stuffing box. Besides a loose hose clamp, anything else I should be looking for?

Raw water cooled? What has antifreeze in it?
Ya don't say where the pump is leaking, but likely the bushing is worn out and the pump needs a rebuild...new bushing pressed in to match the shaft.
You can buy a rebuilt one from a GM parts supplier or send yours in to have it redone...lotsa companies available...here's one:

Antifreeze is in the heat exchanger. The leak seems to be coming from along the shaft; so maybe just some gasket or bushing.

If it's a 50's model, (flathead 6?) there may be a grease cup on the shaft, fill it with pump grease and give her a turn or two.
