View Full Version : A supply of Bronze rod in australia
I'm desperatly trying to find a supplier of silicone bronze rod here in aus, preferably in victoria. I want to use the rod to make bolts out of 8,10 and 12mm. Any ideas, I suppose that i could buy the bolts already made but i thought that it would be to expensive, infact i havn't priced them yet because i can't find a supplier for those either.

I would look in the phone book for Metal suppliers, or "Screw machine" shops, or "Machine Shops", if they dont have it they will know who does.

No worries Mike i'll give it a try, i must have called about 20 places yesterday, foundries, steel suppliers etc. I just can't find any body who stocks silicone bronze in Melbourne, they all have this stuff called ally bronze, i should jump on building and repair and see if the guru's know anything about the stuff.

Aluminium bronze should be fine, Mic. But I think White's stock a gunmetal which might do the trick. They're a knowledgeable and helpful crowd anyway, and they'll be happy for you to pick their brains.

become an importer!!!
call up Jamestown. they'll ship internationally. if you buy a fair amount you can offset the costs and mark it up. then you get your rod for free.
