Surprising to find it unreported on main news stations

Hard not to link it with Paris, I really hope that appaling safety levels are behing this.

The Calais 'jungle' is a massive asbestos dump. Firefighters would need full suiting and breathers and be decontaminated every time they came out of the firefront.
No one should be there at all.
I wouldn't be surprised at a Paris link if only some Frenchmen getting really angry. But it's probably a cooking fire gone wild.

There was a gas bottle that exploded there a few days back. I'd say a total lack of safety is the most likely cause. The Sudanese section has been obliterated.

Third option: so-called war refugees started (again) fighting each other.

I'd put my money on accident though

If you cram enough people into a limited space with no facilities that's what research tells you will happen.

Outside the UK it seems the Daily Mail is taken seriously....

I have actually seen the camp and it is pretty much a collection of tents and whatever the occupants can scavenge. Its also likely to be cold and damp for the next few months-hence the use of heat.

Regardless of the 'daily mail' the fire and the asbestos are real.

Unfortunately, there are those in the UK (UKIPers and the like) who take it seriously.....

I guess Daily Mail credibility is built on others not willing to pick some subjects

If I cite Daily Mail, it's because it's so damn hard to find other english newssites covering some topics
