I was searching for a new series to binge-watch, and got quickly hooked on this one.

The initial premise seemed like a pretty hokey sci-fi meme: suddenly, 2% of the world's population disappears, instantly.

However, that's really NOT what the series is about....It takes place 3 years AFTER the disappearance, and it's really all about the psychological toll taken on the 'survivors', trying to conduct normal life while dealing with the loss of so many loved ones... and it has a weird, spooky quality to it, especially the people who have formed a bizarre cult in the aftermath. Even after 7 episodes, it's hard to tell exactly WHERE this series is going.

Left me cold. I did binge watch the first season of The Knick. Superb.

A human, interesting series on HBO is Togetherness.
