Thanks.

I've not seen hardware for that kind of big accomodation since it's really only suitable for very large yachts. In that size boat, you'll have an engineer who can fabricate anything.
Seriously, in boats less than 100'+ it's about impossible to make one strong enough for a launch to land against and since the boat is subject to wave action, the movement makes all sorts of interesting interactive problems between the lower grate and any dinks and your soon to be wet feet.
A real ladder is best.

Thanks for the input, but I have to disagree.
Typicaly they are seen on big boats. My previous boat was an 45 foot English Pilot ketch, built in 1933 and had a accomodation ladder. We lived aboard for six years and used it every time we were out. It served it's purpose perfectly and was a favorite feature of the boat. It was pretty small, the platforms were 16" x 18" with 2 steps on the ladder. The hardware was not that complicated, just a lot of unique pieces that would be a pain to make, hence I would like to buy them. I have a picture if you like me to email it. And although perhaps a little cumbersome on a 30 footer, my Dad is getting older and this would be a more comfortable way to get him on the aboard, where he loves to be.

de gustibus non disputandam est
or
different boats, different longsplices
Anyway, these things can be a work of art and are unusual enough to be very special. Just make sure the Edgartown launch comes in on the other side or it'll be kindeling.
