    Greymouth

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

Name of the boat or the inlet? Nasty looking place.
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.

West Coast of the South Island NZ. Bar crossing are tricky enough I suppose but when the Southern Ocean* is trying to get in and a good rainfall (and it really rains over there) is trying to get out then conditions can be challenging.

*Ok, technically it's The Tasman Sea, but have a look at a map...

They have a memorial to lost sailors there. The bar seems to get a boat every couple of years, and more often than not, one of the crew doesn't make it.
There is a great bit in Adrian Hayters book "Shiela in the Wind" about getting his yacht over the bar at Westport (the next town north of Greymouth), after sailing her from the UK following his discharge post war.
