Ciao Nics,

You should be able to find it - I buy it from the Hauptbahnhoff (main train station). I have not been buying of late as it costs Euro 14 - yes equivalent to nearly 30 marks. Too-much the luxury, but yeah, glossy magazines are fun.

Suggestions! - ask Woodenboat to sell you the mag by PDF file - the boats for sale is already there - just need the articles.

I personally rebelled at the magazine's high-price, saved my cents and bought some boat-books. Through Amazon, I purchased Ted Brewer's 'understanding boat design', Larssons' 'undertanding yacht design', Spurs' 'Yacht Style' and some others. Plenty to keep me busy - I've even started drawing my own boat-plans!

Ciao

Perhaps you can make friends with an American in the military stationed in Naples a Capo di Chino and have them subscribe for you. Of course, they will no doubt want to get on your boat.

I was stationed in La Maddalena, Sardegna for 4 years. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We sailed all year 'round in the archipeligo di La Maddalena and the south of Corsica.

Suggestions! (one more)

Dont forget to look at/for your local publications!

For example, I have just been to the INTERBOOT Messe - boat show on Lake Constance, Friedrichshafen - I went to the stand for the German boat and ship builder's Association and picked up their magazine 'boots-wirtschaft' magazine for boat builders and sellers - and WOW, full of good stuff, lines drawings of new designs - which yards are building what in what materials. Industry news, techniques, news for apprentices, new laws, sail technology, available books for industry norms for yacht construction in germany, etc, etc,.
www.dbsv.de (http://www.dbsv.de)

I also picked up the IBN (magazine for watersports on Lake Constance (bodensee) and low and behold - news about what is being built in wood, restorations, boat reviews etc.
