You might try calling DePetro Kay in CT.. The phone number that I have for them is 800-243-1786. I have not called them in some time so I do not know if that is still their number. They are the US distributor for Volvo Penta diesels. If you can not get them there let me know at captfull@aol.com and I will try to track them down.

I have a 67' MD-2C Volvo, two cylinders, great engine. Dumb and as reliable as it comes. If an engine can be lovable this one is it. Overhauled once. I just need to hear that first low, slow turning grumble, a nice resonant vibration throughout the whole boat, and my heart flys.

I'm easy, and she never fails with all my faults.. Good luck to you.

I've had an MD-1 (Frisco Flyer) and MD-2 (Mitchell cutter). Both were great engines...much better than volvo's auto engines. The only issue I had was with the starter/generator combo which hopefully is now obsolete. The gear cases would not let you motorsail at a very high angle without damage to the clutch (been there, done that!)
