If you were going within the next three hours and buy a laptop for multi use, all the gadgets but not a high end business need, what would you buy? I need one for my long distance son to use while he is away.

Heck, ya don't really need all of the latest speed, IMHO. I still use my PIII running at 600 mzh. DVD/CD and modem. Works great for commuting and presentations.

Mine is old by todays standards but still works great for me. Heck my desktop is a 750 Athlon that is still faster that my wifes 1400!

If you were closer, I'd sell you my laptop. I don't use it any more.

Mine is an HP. I have had no problems. I know others who hate HP. I have found their customer support to be well above average.

I prefer the Athlon chip to the Pentium, personally. Their rating are not overstated as the Pentiums ussually are.

Hp 4145, a lot of features for the job, and price was okay for short notice. Thanks guy for the offer. But he is a long ways away from Seattle. Got to go take care of Mama for the night. She is a little blue, but not from the temperature. Later.
