Anyone know if there is a person or company that can still fabricate a traditional charlie noble?

dickinson stoves sells them, or they did some years back. And they will probably fabricate you anything they donb't sell.

I'd imagine that, given a plan, a decent sheet metal shop could make you up one, No? But you might have to hunt a bit to find one that would do nice enough work for it to look good on deck...

ABI sells one. It's OK but expensive.

If you build one, or have one built to your specs, you might consider having a surrounding "cylinder: attached, spaced out about 1/4" (6mm) as a wind shield. Larry showed me this on TALEISEN and they have found that it works under nearly all conditions.

Hi, Joe:

We have one of the "H" type on MAGIC....seems to me, we bought it from Doc Freeman's in Seattle, which of course, is no longer a choice. As Eric pointed our, Dickinson's does carry them. Try:
Dickinson's stove products page - see lower right (http://www.dickinsonmarine.com/shop5/shopdisplaycategories.asp)

Had my "H" made up by a local sheet metal shop - then had to get another one made when the first got nicked. I definitely favour the H shape.

Not to hijack your thread or 'nuthin, but, golly... Larry sure has gotten grey! Add a few pounds and he'd be a shoo in for next year's Macy's Santa! LOL

Chappels Boat Building has a good section on smoke heads. Most aren't difficult to make. Have you tried a local fabricator?

There are a couple on this web page from SailboatStuff.com (http://www.sailboatstuff.com/cb_vent.html), in Petaluma, CA, made by A&B Industries.

...now i want to try one of those!

had a gust one night this winter that actually lifted the cast iron lid up off the dickenson and set it down with a bang (while blowing the burner out)...turned the flashlight on to see what all the noise was about and it looked like a bad rock concert light show with all of the smoke

and then there's the problem of only being able to run the stove on one tack

(moral...get a good one)
