I keep getting bits and pieces of this year's Mills Race on Lake Erie. There was one fatality, numerous DNFs, and I heard some four dismastings. Can't seem to find much about it here. Anybody near Lake Erie have any info?

This is a sort of a bump. The boat involved was Mull 30 named Horse, according to one account. Odd thing is that is identified as a one-off, and the only one built apparently once was owned by a forum member in California.

Ted Hoppe posted about a Mull 30 called Lively Lady last September. (http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthread.php?182543-Bodega-Bay-to-Alameda-aboard-new-old-boat)

Horse is owned by Ken Sabin of Sabin Boat Works (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sabin-Boat-Works/1584301198482713) in Toledo. He was not the fatality. That was a crewman, Glen "Speedy" Reeck (http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/toledoblade/obituary.aspx?n=glen-reeck-speedy&pid=175046682&fhid=27572).

Interesting coincidence--same design, apparently two were built.

According to Ted's thread, 4 were built.
