1950's re-issue Strat. First lime green guitar I have ever owned. :D Plays like butter and sounds great! It's a Mexican. :D I had a USA in my hands but liked the way this one plays and sounds better and I saved a little money.

Congrats. Lime green guitars are among the best. Lime green cars are also very fast off the line. There's just something about lime green.

You guys have funny limes.

(Congrats on the new guitar, Mike - I've recently acquired a couple new ones for the stable, too, a Rainsong acoustic and a Godin acoustic/electric 12-string. NGDs are great fun!)

Nice! Now get a new camera. :D

I love my powder blue Mexican Strat. You'd hate it, though...rosewood fingerboard. ;)

NICE, now when you going to play for me?

This one has all of the vintage hardware. I'm going to replace the pick guard and the rear bridge cover. They are a little too cheaply made for my liking. I added two more springs to the floating trem. It only had the standard of three on it when I bought it yesterday.

Nice guitar! I hope you enjoy the heck out of it. However, if you're gonna be member of the classic Strat club, you gotta get your color terminology right. That's not "Lime green". Fender never had a color called "lime green". It's "Surf green" - which sounds a whole lot cooler.

The surf green color was taken from the 1957 Chevy cars paint options and first used by Fender 1960-65...which makes it a bit odd that at 1950's reissue would have a 1960's color...but anyway it's a cool color and certainly looks 1950 - ish

That guitar probably has some pretty bright single coil pickups. Most all of the surf models did, and the maple fingerboard will brighten the sound even more. A great guitar for Beach Boys or early Beatles music. Enjoy !!

Is acquiring a new guitar a rare occurrence for you or do you suffer from GAS ? (Gear Acquisition Syndrome).

Waddie

Ok, Surf green it is. :D And it's the first new one in awhile. I'm trying to replace some of the ones I sold. :(

Argentina strats have more soul and more vibrant. Colors.

Have you ever thought of building a guitar yourself? With companies like Warmoth out there and all of the custom pickups available anyone with basic skills can build their own. I quit making my own necks because the Warmoth necks are so good, and not that pricey.

I never have built one myself but have thought about it. With the Strat and the Tele I have, I've got about all the electric guitars I want. The next guitar will be a REALLY nice acoustic....maybe a Martin unless I can get Bruce Taylor to build me one. :D

A local fellow who was repairing guitars built a nice acoustic. It had those relieved edges that cut diagonally from side to top right where your arm rests. It felt GREAT and played even better. I should have bought it...

You'll have to fight my daughter, first. :D She taught herself to play the little "bunny guitar" I made her a couple of years ago, and now she wants a nylon string.

It'll be at least a year until I can get back into the shop, though. :(

I have a 1974 D28 looking for a home, and the exchange rate would make it a pretty good deal in USD. Feel free to PM if interested.
