Anyone know of a sawmill cutting (and selling small quantities of) Atlantic White Cedar in South Jersey. I'll be there next week and would like to pick up a few planks.

Frank let me know if you find some, that is if you are willing to stop on your way back, Im near the NC SC border right off I77.. I'm working on an adirondack guideboat and could use some for the siding.

We will be driving my wife's Saturn with a roof-rack. If I'm lucky she will let me carry 5 or 6 planks. Not much to get any sort of a job done. Just enough to get a feel for how it works - I've never had any to play with before. Sorry, maybe next time I'll be able to bring my truck and a trailer.

After searching for about a year I picked up about 130bd ft of Jersey white cedar last month. I did a lot of searching & made a lot of phone calls and could find only two places that still mill Jersey cedar. (From what I have been told the DEP etc. has made it really tough to cut any cedar in the Pine Barrens any more.) The guy I bought from hasn't been able to run his mill for six months now because he can't get logs. Schairer Brother's mill in Egg Harbor City still mills Jersey cedar (& they have up to 16'x10", so they tell me).
If you are not particular as to whether you have 'Jersey white cedar' or 'regular' Atlantic white cedar ;) there are places outside of NJ that mill the Atlantic white. Condon's in White plains NY moves a lot (a lot from the Carolina's I believe).
