Interesting Data on Same-Sex Marriage
The UUs didn't surprise me, but the Catholics certainly did! More than 2:1 in favor. (source)

And the fine print at the bottom says --
* Sample size is less then 100. Results should be interpreted with caution

But hey, anything to make the public think it is acceptable and as natural as the rocky mountains.. -

Unitarians, yes, but my experience is we are rarely at a loss of for an opinion. The total sample size for the whole survey is 40,571."For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations,

Some 40,000 people were surveyed. The asterisk applied to the number of Unitarian/Universalists interviewed.Last edited by Tom Montgomery; 04-22-2015, 06:50 PM."They have a lot of stupid people that vote in their primaries. Interesting how it breaks down by race.“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”― Mark Twain,Comment

The Mormons are hard-core too, also Evangelical Baptists (what a surprise).
Hey, what happened to Hanley? I didn't think he'd be the sort to get banned.
The racial differences are interesting, as is the difference between Hispanic Catholics and Hispanic Protestants (who tend to be evangelical and quite conservative). Overall, things have come farther in the past ten years than I would ever have believed.
And Ron, whether same-sex marriage is a good idea or not, homosexuality is most certainly every bit as natural as the Rocky Mountains.Last edited by Keith Wilson; 04-22-2015, 06:57 PM."For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations,

Re: Interesting Data on Same-Sex Marriage
I was raised Presbyterian and was pretty heavily involved in my church through high school. Afterwards I drifted away and no longer consider myself religious or of faith. But I have to say I took a bit of pride when the Presbyterian Church (USA) formally allowed same-sex marriages last month. It didn't surprise me as the people I grew up in church with were extremely considered and progressive. But it was good to see. It's also what frustrates me when people bang on about the bad old Christians as though Christiandom is some monolithic entity.

That's right Doug... confuse em!The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.
Personal failures are too important to be trusted to others.Comment
