Thanks Tim. I found a picture of an 1880's bandsaw that was bought from a lumberyard I used to do business with smile.gif
(I think Dave F. posted a link to this site quite a while also, but it's good to have a refresher.)

Ayup. Keith Bohn of the 'wreck' was an instigator of that website and the Yahoo Forum too.

TimH, ya ain't gonna find one of those dream deals just overnight. Outfit in LA, Davis and Wells, he has some nice rebuilt machines as well as some he will sell as is.

He acquired the D&W name when the company shut its doors. Made nice 20" bandsoars as well as solid but, not fancy Jointers, Horizontal Boring Machines and Shapers.
Lots o'ahrn in them machines.

I will say one thing is for sure. Its a LOT easier to find cool stuff (old tools, etc) back in Michigan than here. Everybody wants top dollar for everything out here.

Welcome to M$ country.

<insert big grin here>

Lots of boatbuilders, shipwrights, woodworkers in the PacNoWest as well as down south here in 'insane Diego'.

Try the town papers of places like Arlington, Stanwick, those places off the water.
Forget, more than likely, places like Anacortes, La Connor, Port Townsend, Oak Harbor, Bellingham.

Give Bob Smalser(sp) a ping and see what he can tell ya about the area near Bremerton. Was some builders around Olympia and Tacoma of course has Bates so might be bare ground too, sigh.
