View Full Version : Sources for plywood & building items in the AZ area
I am hoping to build a "Joel White, Nutshell Pram" in AZ this winter. I'm not having lots of early luck in finding sources for the plywood. I guess I'm the only one on my block who's starting a boat building project this winter. Any suggestions on sources for the necessary materials will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gard Gardiner

Gard,
Hey, another Noah in the desert. I'm down here in the SE corner near Sierra Vista. Good luck finding any sort of marine plywood in Arid-zona.
About 14 years ago I was able to get some 1/4" fir marine thru a local yard. No more. The boat I'm building now I had to order the ply (I used okoume and meranti) from Edensaw up in Washington, and have it shipped down.
www.edensaw.com (http://www.edensaw.com) None of the Tucson yards could or would order anything in. You don't need too much for that pram, shipping the wood is a viable option. Or if you're around Phoenix, maybe some yard up there can act as middleman.
