So I'm making a box of teak that might get a bit wet, and wonder about a glue that'll bond. A former post suggested "Gorilla Glue" for teak but it isn't easily come by way way out here. I think I'd start by wiping the glue areas with denatured alcohol to get the oils away from the surfaces to be bonded, and then comes the glue. I suspect there are the usual white and yellow carpenter's glues here and maybe some powdered glue but I've not yet gone hunting. What kind of glue do you suggest I look for? AND...what about the usual 2-part epoxy that comes in those tiny tubes in sets in department stores? When, in the States, I worked with the more fluid epoxies such as West (it was RAKA)when bonding rosewood, I wiped the glue areas with denatured alcohol, then diluted (10%?)the epoxy mix with (I think) denatured alcohol for a deep penetrating first coat, let this set up for a bit, and then put on a thickened epoxy for bonding. Would I be able to do something like this with the teak?
