Why can't I find a gasoline filling unit that has the overflow built in. For some reason all units that I can find have no vent systems in the neck but separatley mounted elsewhere. I have been yelled at to many times at the gas station as the overflow ALWAYS spill that last PINT on the ground. 2: where can I find nylon fittings to make my own water/holding tanks. West Marine had a kit from Tempo which they called a "relocation kit". $44.99 for 3 nylon fittings, 2 1 1/2" and 1 3/4" absurd price for 3 $4.00 fttings. Can I use the nylon thru-hulls. Has anyone tried to make their own threads by placing epoxy in the opening and putting a "greased" fitting in it while it sets up leaving a good set of female threads. Just looking for options and ideas!! Roger

I expect that marine fuel filler necks are designed so that wave motion doesn't cause fuel to slosh out or water to slosh into your fuel filler. Wet fuel is usually a disappointment at sea. As to plastic water system connections and fittings, try US plastics (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/default.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1) They have more items in their paper catalog than online, but maybe you can find what you need under "tubing and fittings". They have tanks and bulkhead fittings in the paper catalog.

Other that Del, little help from the forum here. After extensive travel over the internet I came across: http://www.tank-depot.com/shopping/product.asp?group=322&SiteID=13&dept=68&cat=&subcat=&sec=
They seemed to have the best prices for a known quantity and the fitting kit was included!!!!!. Their "relocation kit was $20.00 less than Wests' instore price and $10.00 less than their internet price. Roger :)

Flip top gas fill w/integral tank vent. Flame arrestor. Continuous venting while providing effective prevention of water intrusion. All plastic construction; eliminates need for ground wire required for metal fills. Meets USCG Safety Standards 1/31/97 for gas fuel systems (33CFR183). Returns fuel splash back down fill neck instead of overboard. Hinged flip top cap eliminates need for deck plate key and cap loss. 1 piece fill and vent assembly installs faster than 2 components

Try an agricultural supply store for your water fittings.

They come in various plastics and also in nylon.
