In this month's Texas Monthly there is a great book excerpt regarding the Crystal City Internment Camp in Texas. This camp was not widely know as some of the other camps. Excellent article. For those interested in learning about the Japanese internment camps see link below.

Interesting to know there were germans and italian families there too.

Never has been our great shame ( think slavery and Indian annihilation) nor should it be so considered . Tragic, mistaken policy. Understandable considering the times: Yes.

Not our greatest shame, I agree. But a great shame however you look at it.

It is but one example of the various ways that we have failed to live up to the vision of our Founding Fathers, and to be the sort of nation we want to be. We are human. We fail. And we should then redouble our efforts to do better. So.... until they clean up their acts, and get their heads on straight... don't vote Republican! <G>
