Re: just one book
"The Common Sense of Yacht Design" by L Francis Herreshoff is a book I have treasured for over fifty some odd years. This is a book that contains a tremendous amount of wisdom in dealing with boat construction as well as boats and their operation in general.

"Euell Gibbons' Beachcomber's Handbook"

with what pleasure, what joy,
you come into harbors seen for the first time...

Re: just one book
Just one book period? The Complete Works of William Shakespeare.
Sorta cheating but it is one volume. If I could have a second, then an Authorized Bible, commonly miscalled the King James. With those two I'd have the English language pretty well covered and enough to think about for life.Comment
