Well, you are right, actually. When you are built to do just one thing and then don't do it there's not much more to say other than the fact that she is an awesome machine.

I used to sail on a boat that regularly got 'Mexican firsts' (I don't know why it's called that, but it is, at least down here). I have to admit it is pretty cool to be drinking rum in the bar while 50% of the rest of the fleet is 50% of the way to the finish line. Of course, that kind of boat is only made for long races and there aren't nearly as many of those as there once was.

Well, Paul, can you tell us about the image on the spinnaker?

As a graphic designer, I might've come up with something like that depending on what the client was going for. I can't imagine what the production of that sail was like from a printer's point of view. Actually, I can imagine it. I've made printed billboards forty feet on a side, I'm sure it's just the same only more. But the point of that is, just doing the image for the sail probably cost as much as the sail itself. So the question becomes, why would anyone sane enough to own and personalize a boat like that spend that kind of money to have that hideous huge fugly thing out on the water for God and everyone to see?

So I guess the personage depicted is germaine to the name of the boat or the owner's business or something, right? I don't recognize it, but it looks like some drunk used Chuck Norris as a model for a Che Guevara poster.

The boat's name is Comanche.

Comanche, eh? Should have used this picture - it would be more authentic.
