    Evolution of Boatbuilding, 1940-1970

For the most part experience is making the same mistakes over and over again, only with greater confidence.

Fascinating topic. There's an excellent book on the early days of glass: "Heart of Glass: Fiberglass Boats and the Men Who Built Them" by Daniel Spurr

        Interesting.

Ian - that is Daniel Spurr's website and effort

Hmm. I met a guy in Brooklin last week who told me about the woodtoglass website and how it was in need of updating. Now I'm guessing it may have been Dan Spurr himself. It was at a loud party and I didn't get his name when I was introduced to him. If so, I surely embarrassed myself by asking if he knew about 'Heart of Glass'.

celebrate the historic and world-changing transition from wood boat building to fiberglass and more advanced composites.
