So, where did you find Ann Katherine, and how did I miss her?
;)
If the moving is any indication, she's gonna really shine again. Great post.

Keep the updates coming!

Very interesting set of pictures that answered several questions for me on moving a larger boat. Happy restoring!

Thank you much folks. I found the vessel via dragging through the yards looking for a project that fit my parameters. It was on the hard in Shilshole Bay's SeaView Boatyard-West. The boat had come up for sale a few times over the past year, but always at a price out of my range. I just lucked out when a previous buyer defaulted on his/her agreement. The yard just wanted it gone at that point. In I stepped.

The vessel was designed by Wm. Garden in 1949 and built by Edison Boatworks in Seattle in 1950. Based on my research thus far, it was apperently the only one ever built. I was able to track down the linesdrawings, plans, offsets, and spars-sheets from Mystic.

The previous history is obscure, but I'm hoping will unfold over time. The new name "Ann Katherine" is of and for my mother who was, incedentally born in '49. Previous names are unknown.

I'll be restoring her from the ground up in PT over the next 5 or so years. The yard is about 1.5 miles from Edensaw Woods. Couldn't do much better for a restoration location on the Left Coast.

I'll keep everyone posted...

Congrats, I've been looking at that boat sitting there in the yard everyday wishing someone would take her. I hope to see her on the Sound. Good Luck.

Thanks again all! The helper, whom I couldn't have done this without, is my oldest friend. He, like myself, is a high-desert transplant now residing in Seattle. The two of us make a great coverage team as less expensive resources (mostly tools) are rather limited here on the Olympic Peninsula. He watched after the boat while it sat at Shilshole for three months after I took ownership.

Say, Neo? You wouldn't happen to have any recent history on her would ya?
