marlin board

hey all,
my uncle has asked me to replace his teak marlin board on his 30 footer.
i was wondering if anyone has used or has reccomendations for or against using merbau or nyatoh, for a few reasons 1: i have used these timbers alot ie; gunwhales, cabin rails, etc.
tough stuff. any one suggest against. 2: i thin thay are both beautiful and durable timbers.
all ideas and advice is muchly appreciated.
