Yesterday a couple of V-22 ospreys, followed by a pair of Helicopters in Marine 1 livery passed over the house. The same formation was reported by a bird watcher the day before. I thought it had something to do with demobilization of the summer vacation facilities in M.V.

Guess not. Obama arrives for a fund raiser in Newport Friday evening. Impeccable timing, as the folks in Newport will appreciate the start to the Labor Day weekend. So stay away from the airport in Warwick as well as Newport friday afternoon and evening.

For those interesting in attending, tickets start at $10K.

The Dems get their money in Newport, the Hamptons and Hollywood. The Repugnicans go to Kansas City and Las Vegas. For some reason Bush #43 isn't going to the hustings again. Why is that?

change you can believe in. . .

I believe that you can't get elected in the present system without lots of $$$ and you can't change the system if you don't get elected.

I believe that if we could elect half of congress who think the same, we can change it.

The president came over my house Friday evening! Twice, in fact, around 6:40 and again 9:20 at about 500' (lol).

So the two V-22's and Marine 1's were here 4 days, along w/ all the secret service folks at Green Airport in Warwick and Ocean Ave. in Newport. I was trying to figure out how a 747 could use Green because the runways are too short. He actually used what appeared to be a 757/767.

Tickets were $10K to $32.5K, so the 50-60 tickets holders generated ~ $1.5 million.

What irritated me was that his vacation location in M.V. the previous weeks is only 30 miles away. Couldn't he have come to Newport for a couple of hours during that time, or better yet, invited the 50-60 folks over to M.V. for the evening?

I'll bet the incremental cost of aircraft and security exceeded the amount of funds raised in Newport.

At least Newport can handle this! Cooperstown really can't. His bein' there may have been good for tourism at the Hall of Shame but, it was a nightmare for the locals! He only stayed 20 min.

From what I've read, you're lucky the Ospreys didn't fall on your house
